When about to travel, one of the biggest questions people ask, is if it's okay to leave data roaming on while travelling.
As a word of caution, we advise all of our customers to turn data roaming off prior to boarding your flight in Canada. This prevents any type of accidental data usage while travelling, and saves you from surprise fees that pop up on your monthly bill. If you would still like to check on apps that require internet activity, we suggest using them in wifi only areas.
Should you choose to use your data while you are travelling, and consume the fees for data that is mentioned in our travel plans, please turn data roaming back on once you get off the plane. As each of our zones offer a complimentary 2GB data limit, when you go over, Rogers will send you a text message notifying you that you have reached your limit. Once you receive this message, anything over, you will be charged.
If you have not already done so, we highly recommend downloading the mydatamanager app to track your data. There is feature on this app, that specifically meant for roaming, and kicks in when you roam. You could also track this by keeping an eye on your running total of the mydatamanager app in your notifications.
